Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

NICE (National Institute of Health and Care Excellence) have recommended EMDR for cases of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and studies have shown EMDR to also be effective for a range of other issues such as;

* Anxiety

* Phobias

* Depression

* Self-esteem or performance issues

* Emotional issues such as anger

EMDR sessions can last between 60 – 90 minutes and will require you recalling disturbing events, including emotions and physical sensations that accompany these. Gradually, the therapist will guide you through associating different context, thoughts and feelings to the events. Using techniques learnt in your sessions, clients will continue to reprocess events after their treatment.

Curian Minds have a nationwide network of cost effective, EMDR trained therapists who are able to assist patients on their road to recovery.
